As part of the Tunisian Geodesy Upgrade project, we present in this report an investigation of the quality of our Tunisian Primordial Terrestrial Geodetic Network (RGPTT). On this subject, we present the study of Laplacian closures between the eight astronomical azimuths as well as the agreements between bases measured in 1982 during work to revalue the RGPTT object of agreement n°2916 between the OTC and the Institut Géographique National de France (IGNF). We give in part A the methodology followed, the results obtained and the conclusions. The part B of the investigation concerned the different calculations, is given in the full paper.

In this paper, we present some comparisons of geodetic azimuths obtained by GPS by classical geodesy and by astronomical observations (Laplace's points). The geodetic azimuths are calculated using 3D coordinates or by plane coordinates (Tunisian Lambert projection). The results obtained confirm that the orientation issued by GPS is identical to astronomical orientation which confirms also the orientation of the Tunisian Primordial Geodetic Network obtained by the definitive adjustment of the French Institut Geographique National in 1984.
