The mystique of solidarity retains its allure. The power of solidarity defies imagination. Yet harnessing this power has proven to be a challenge. There is much about solidarity to be learned. This study seeks a deeper understanding of solidarity that is necessary to find a way of using the enormous creative potential of solidarity more effectively for human progress and liberation. The article shows that the dominant theory and practice of solidarity are incapable to realize this objective. The article argues that attraction to differences is the main source of solidarity’s power. Affirmation and empowerment of differences is the key to creating strong and enduring social bonds that can sustain solidarity. Yet the dominant conception of solidarity requires subjugation of differences to the central point of identification and their suppression. The article proposes a new approach toward solidarity. The distinct feature of this approach is its view of differences. In contrast to the traditional view that sees differences primarily as opposed to each other, the article outlines a new conception of solidarity that views differences as the most important resource for human advancement and liberation. The article examines the theoretical and practical implications of the new conception.

We study the head entries of A Concise Dictionary of Slang and Unconventional English. Wedraw the natural logarithm of the number of head entries, normalised, starting with a letter vsthe natural logarithm of the rank of the letter, normalised. We conclude that the Dictionarycan be characterised by BP(4, βH = 0.02), i.e. the magnetisation curve in the the Bethe-Peierlsapproximation of the Ising model, in the presence of four nearest neighbours and little externalmagnetic field, H, with βH = 0.02. β is1/(K_B T) where, T is temperature and k_B is the tiny Boltzmann constant.

This paper presents a metaphorical reflection on parenting dynamics inspired by sudden realization while cooking noodles. Observing how noodles are often placed in the plate starting from the edge, it led to the insight that parental attention isfrequently distributed along a "horizontal line," where focus tends to fall on the eldest or youngest children. This paper suggest "circle" model of parenting, in which each child is seen and cared for equally, regardless of birth order. Drawing upon psychological theories of birth order, favoritism, and sibling dynamics, the paperexplores how parental perspectives might shift if the family structure were imagined in a more inclusive and balanced form. This conceptual essay aims to open new perspective for understanding equality in family relationships and invites readers to rethinking parenting style beyond linear hierarchies.
