Triunism

Authors: D. J. Larson

Western civilization rests on foundational belief systems of religion, philosophy, and science that once pursued a unified truth. Over recent centuries, science rose to dominate over philosophy and religion as new observations challenged old paradigms and technological advances delivered many benefits. Commitments to objective reality, God, and the immortal human soul gradually yielded to a worldview in which scientific formulas and empirical tests became the dominant path to knowledge. Truth came to be seen as a human construct shaped by power. In many intellectual circles, Christianity is now viewed as an outdated and sometimes dangerous myth. This paper traces the historical path that led to the present dominance of nihilistic, monistic, materialistic, atheistic instrumentalism, and then goes on to discuss the many unsolved problems in science and philosophy.Triunism is presented as a return to objective reality, Christianity, and a single coherent truth. Its ontology consists of a primary triune of absolute space, absolute time, and matter. Within matter lies a secondary triune: M1 (ordinary matter), M2 (aetherial matter), and M3 (spiritual matter). The human being is understood as an M3 immortal soul united to an M1 body during earthly life, with the soul surviving bodily death. M3 interacts with M1 through preferential collapse of quantum states, enabling genuine free will while preserving M1 conservation laws. The paper discusses how a return to absolute theory and an aetherial M2 is consistent with existing scientific data. It notes that science deliberately excludes M3 from its experiments; physics therefore finds no evidence of M3. This absence leads to the mistaken materialist conclusion that M3 (including God and the soul) does not exist. The paper presents ample positive evidence that M3 does exist, including evidence for the soul. The life, death, and Resurrection of Jesus Christ, along with arguments for the existence of God, are also discussed. Finally, the paper discusses how Triunism offers promising solutions to many persistent problems in physics and philosophy.Triunism is not a finished product. The present paradigm has been constructed over centuries by a vast collective effort and matches a tremendous body of observational detail. What is offered here is a foundation, not an encyclopedic replacement. Much work remains.By recovering metaphysics, objective reality, and a spiritual M3, Triunism addresses many vexing problems while providing a path toward reuniting physics, philosophy, and Christianity under the pursuit of a single coherent truth.
