Problems Encountered by Physical Education Teachers in Physical Education Classes And Their Professional Life in Turkey

This research aims to evaluate the problems encountered by physical education teachers in physical education classes and their professional life in Turkey. Method of researching was compilation, which is being used widely in research literature. In this context, authentic articles and post-graduate thesises on this subject have been evaluated first. As a result of the literature research conducted, it has been understood that most of the studies on this field were post-graduate thesis papers and there were a limited number of authentic articles on the subject. As a result of this research, it has been understood that among other problems encountered by physical education teachers in physical education classes, having inadequate/insufficient equipment for sports, parents not being able to communicate with physical education teachers, low level of interest shown by parents to physical education classes, low level of interest shown by students due to easy pass/fail regulations, parent considering children attendance to physical education events are unnecessary, other branch teachers not caring about physical education courses of children, school administration not caring about physical education courses of children, physical education classes in first, second and third grade not being administered by physical education teachers, insufficient/inadequate sports facilities and dressing rooms, unproductive application of course plans due to high number of students in classes, unproductive departmental works, easy pass/fail regulations, students not paying enough attention to physical education classes due to spending time in private courses for the preparation process to central placement exams were the major problems.

In literature it is seen that the recreation methods of the youth are also handled next to the problems of youth . It is a well known fact that in what kind of activities youth do in their leisure time is significant for both their mental and physical healthes. Because of that it has importance to take necessary precautions for youth effectively about the methods of leisure time activities. For youth’s having fruitful activities; their leisure time preferences, the factors effecting them while paticipating in the activity are to be well known. It is aimed in this paper to find out answers to these questions.

Social Progress Inadequacies in The Handicapped: Benefits of Sport in Socialısing Process

The handicapped are individuals who are often encountered in society, have development disabilities in various areas, and cannot benefit from many rights utilised by people with normal development due to their disabilities in question. This situation causes certain problems in handicapped individuals’ daily and social life. Social development disabilities are the main one among aforesaid problems. In many researches in body of literature, it is found that the handicapped experiences certain social problems depending on their handicap and level of disability. Various activities and therapy methods are used in supporting social development of handicapped individuals. One of these activities is sports. As known, participation in sport activities enhances people’s health quality and contributes protection of their physical and spiritual health. Sport activities are considered as a socialising means for handicapped individuals. In this research, it is aimed to evaluate effects of participation of sport activities on handicapped individuals’ socialising.

Examining of Middle School Students Leisure Choice According to Gender

The purpose of this research is to examine the free time preference according to their gender of middle school students. Total 151 middle school students participated in the study Tarsus district. Free time choice questionnaire, developed by Tel (2007), was used to determine the free time of the students. Frequency and chi-square analysis was used for statistical analysis of the data obtained at SPSS 22.0 software. At the end of the study, it was found that some free time preferences wasn’t significant difference statistically by gender such as “Dealing with nothing, rest”, “Books, newspapers, magazines read”, “Listening to music or playing a musical instrument”, “TV, video monitoring”, “Going to the cinema or the theater”, “To participate in social and cultural activities”, “Spend time with family”, “Go to neighbors or relatives”, “Chatting with friends”, “Go to the cafeteria or coffee shop”, “Deal with Hobbies” (p>0.05). Whereas, it was found that some free time preferences was significant difference statistically by gender such as “Visit bazaar or shopping”, “Sports do or watch sports competitions”, “Spending time on the internet (for chat, game or hobby)” and “Go hunting (hunting land and water)” (p<0.05).

To Investigate of Attitude Towards The Physical Education in Secondary Students According to Class And Gender Variables

In this study, we aimed to investigate high school students' attitudes towards physical education classes. Attitudes of students were compared by sex and the class level in the study Total 150 high school students, consist of 91 women and 59 men, participated in this study. To determine the students physical education attitudes was used “Physical Education Attitude Scale” developed by Gullu & Guclu (2009). The frequency analysis, independent t test and One Way ANOVA analysis used in SPSS 22.0 data analysis software. At the end of the study, there is no significant difference in woman and men students physical education attitudes (p>0.05). Similarly, there is no statistically difference physical education attitudes according to students grade level (p>0.05). According to the results obtained, it can be said students gener status and grade level are not a significant determinant to physical education attitudes.
