In this latest study, the German-Chinese research team describes a type of twisted magnon for which the twist or the winding number is protected against damping.  In a recently published paper in Science, researchers at the Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS), were able to both excite and detect spin waves in a quantum Hall ferromagnet, demonstrating a new platform to investigate some of the possibilities of this promising material.
